A month ago I was eating lunch with Clark Fredricksen and we came up with an idea for a new form of news gathering and sharing which we've named "Other People's News". We're embracing the fact that the customization and targeting of online news often results in news ghettos, where people are only exposed to perspectives and stories inside their comfort zones.

With Other People's News we're giving everyone a look into how different people see the world and soon we'll be opening up features which let you share your perspective.

Both Clark and I have other jobs (well, I have five other jobs) but despite that we've put together a prototype which demonstrates the basic idea. We're big believers in shipping as soon as possible and iterating quickly, so in the next few weeks we'll be inviting people to a private beta. Watch this space for details.
